Paradip Port On High Alert After Hong Kong-Flagged Ship With 21 Pakistanis Arrives

Paradip: The Immigration Department has tightened security at the port after receiving information about 21 Pakistani crew members onboard a Hong Kong-flagged ship MT Siren II’ docked at the Single Point Mooring (SPM) berth. The department has informed the Marine Police, CISF, and Customs authorities about the situation.

According to reports, the ship is carrying 135 tons of unrefined oil from South Korea and will anchor 20 km off the Paradip coast. The Immigration, Coast Guard, and Marine Police will closely monitor the vessel’s activities during its stay at the SPM berth until the oil is unloaded.

Meanwhile, the security agencies have confirmed that all necessary precautions are in place to ensure the safe unloading of the cargo. Besides, strict instructions have been issued to keep a close watch on the vessel and ensure that none of the Pakistani crew members disembark under any circumstances.

The security agencies have been directed to maintain a high level of vigilance and prevent any potential security breaches. The ship will remain under surveillance until further notice.
