Ganjam: The authorities of Parala Maharaja Engineering College in Odisha’s Ganjam district expelled seven students on charges of creating involving in ‘restricted activities’.
According to reports, the principal of the government-run engineering college rusticated the students following complaints that they were creating chaos in the campus. The college administration has also deployed armed police personnel to prevent any untoward incident in the college campus following the expulsion of the seven students.
The complaint alleged that one of the accused students had cooked and ate beef in their campus on September 11. They allegedly also served beef to some other students of the college triggering tension on the campus.
Later, activists of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) lodged an FIR in this regard with the Gopalpur police. The college authorities have, however, not commented on the incident.
