**Bolangir: ** In the latest turn of events, the Odisha Crime Branch is questioning a college lecturer and four others after receiving some fresh input in the parcel bomb case. The man, identified as Punjilal Meher, is an English lecturer at Bhaisa College.
He, along with four others including the deceased groom Soumya Sekhar Sahu’s parents are also being interrogated by the probe agency.
As per reports, the officials started their interrogation after learning that there was some bad blood between Sahu’s mother and Meher, who teach in the same college.
They were both competing to acquire the post of Principal and were not on good terms with each other, especially after Soumya’s mother got the post.
Notably, Soumya Sekhar Sahu and Reema Sahu had got married on Februrary 18 at Patnagarh in Bolangir district. However, tragedy struck when Soumya Sekhar and his grandmother Jemamani, were killed when a marriage gift parcel containing a bomb exploded at their residence on February 23.
On the other hand, Reema sustained critically injuries and was shifted to Cuttack SCB Medical College and Hospital, from where she was discharged on April 11.
Following the incident which created enormous uproar all over, families of both the boy and the girl had met the Chief Minister at Naveen Niwas to request an expeditious probe. The newly-wed survivor Reema Sahu had also appealed to the Chief Minister through media for a thorough probe and speedy justice.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Odisha Crime Branch is still probing the case even after two months of the incident. The special team had earlier visited Raipur in Chhattisgarh to interrogate the owner of the courier company from which the gift was sent. Despite questioning a number of persons, including the family and relatives of the bride and groom, the police are yet to get hold of the main mastermind behind this incident.
