Bhubaneswar: As the Pari murder case of Nayagarh district is being embroiled in political controversy every passing day in the wake of self-immolation bid by the deceased girl’s parents before the Assembly recently, local legislator and Higher Education Minister Arun Sahoo today opened his mouth as the opposition is baying for his scalp.
In his media reactions today, the Higher Education Minister said, “I’m deeply saddened and immensely disturbed at the sensational incident revolving around the murder of little girl Pari. My aim and objective is to ensure justice to her bereft family.”
“In my political life, I’m extremely opposed to violence. I’m saddened at any death. I welcome the Crime Branch probe ordered by the State Government and strongly believe that justice will be done to Pari’s family,” stated he.
Reiterating, “Whoever is involved in it should be punished,” the ruling BJD MLA urged, “Such a sensational case shouldn’t be politicised. Rather there must be demand for justice given to the aggrieved family. Priority should be given to unravelling the truth.”
“Let Pari get justice and the truth come to the fore,” quipped the senior BJD leader.
Notably, ruckus marred the House proceedings today as the opposition BJP and Congress members stalled smooth functioning for which Speaker Surya Narayan Patro had to adjourn Assembly repeatedly.
