Dhenkanal: The Dhenkanal Police has cracked the case of Parjang bank robbery with the arrest of nine miscreants and seizure of gold ornaments worth Rs 3.50 crore. The inter-district gang has more than 32 cases against it and all the nine accused are from Angul district. One among them is a woman, the police said.
DIG, North-Central Range, Talcher Birjesh Rai held a press conference here on Wednesday during which he informed that total 6.20 gram gold and cash of Rs 4 lakh has been recovered. “Besides, Rs 4 pistols, 11 round live ammunition, 6 motorcycles, one SUV and several mobile phones have been seized,” Rai said.
“The SP rushed to the spot immediately after the incident and formed a team under the supervision of SDPO Kamakhyanagar. Further, the Special Squad was pressed into service and the Additional SP was stationed at Mahabir Road police station. We are happy with the recovery and that the case has been succssfully cracked,” the DIG added.
