Parlakhmundi ACF’s Death: DIG Examines Deceased Soumya Ranjan’s Quarter, Probe Intensifies

Berhampur: Southern Range DIG Satyabrata Bhoi today visited the quarter the quarter of deceased Assistant Conservator of Forest Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra and examined the premises on Thursday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, Bhoi held a meeting with senior police officials who are investigating the case, including, DSP Gajapati SP, local IICs, and Crime Branch officials.

Speaking to a posse of media personnel following this meeting, Bhoi said that a full fledged investigation is on in this case. “We are probing all angles. Today, our teams returned from Mayurbhanj and Balasore after examining the family members of the deceased and his wife. All others, who are related to this case will come under purview of the probe and will be questioned.”

The DIG further added that the Government quarter of the deceased ACF was the spot of incident. “The local police team had conducted a probe in this connection and later the Crime Branch officials have also concurred our inference about the spot.”

Whether it was a case of suicide or murder remains unclear. The police remained tight-lipped about the headways but said that significant developments have taken place over the past few days, pertaining to this case. “We have gathered many important evidences. Very soon, we will get a much clearer picture and things will be in public domain,” added Bhoi.
