Bhubaneswar: People of Bhubaneswar thronged Janpath in the wee hours of Sunday to participate in Pathotsav, which resumed in a Temple City after a brief hiatus. The event was held at its usual venue – Ram Mandir Chowk to Station Square, a stretch colourfully decked up for the street festival.
The new edition of Pathotsav commenced on a special day – Christmas, for which the venue was crowded by a number of Santa Clauses – who donned the traditional attire and were seen distributing sweets and gifts to children.
There were several activities to highlight the upcoming FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023, being hosted by Odisha in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela. The trophy of the mega tournament arrived in the city today evening.
Dignitaries including Mayor Sulochana Das, MLA Ananta Narayan Jena, Municipal Commissioner Vijaya Amruta Kulange, and several others attended the event and cheered the crowd on Sunday morning.
