Patient Dies As Ambulance Loses Balance & Hits Tree In Jajpur

Bhubaneswar: One died and three persons were injured when an ambulance they were travelling in hit a tree at Barhampur under Binjharpur police limits in Jajpur district, on Friday.

According to sources, the ambulance was on its way to Jajpur from Cuttack when the ambulance lost balance and hit a tree. As a result, the patient, who was on his way home after being discharged from a Cuttack-based private hospital, died on the very spot.

The mishap also left two attendants of the patient and the ambulance driver injured critically. They have been rushed to a nearby hospital.

Police, upon being informed, seized the body and sent it for post-mortem. Police investigation is underway to find out the reason behind the accident.
