Cuttack: Panic prevailed at SCB Medical College & Hospital on Wednesday after a false ceiling collapsed inside the old Medicine ward, injuring a patient.
According to hospital sources, the incident occurred on the first floor of the old medicine ward when a portion of the false ceiling suddenly gave way and fell from the roof. One patient was struck on the head by the falling debris and sustained injuries.
Hospital staff immediately rushed to the spot and provided first aid to the injured patient. He was later shifted to another ward for further treatment. Doctors have confirmed that his condition is stable.
Following the incident, hospital authorities ensured the safety of other patients in the ward and temporarily relocated them.
