Patnagarh MLA’s Kangaroo Court: ‘Kidnapped’ JE Rescued, Brought Back Home By Police

Bolangir: Patnagarh PWD Junior Engineer Jaswant Sabar, who had gone missing for two days after being allegedly kidnapped, was rescued by police from Khariar of Nuapada district, on Thursday late night. The cops brought him back home after rescuing him at 12:30 am, stated reports.

Earlier a video showing Patnagarh MLA Saroj Meher forcing Sabar to do sit-ups in public went viral on social media. In the wake of the viral video, the Junior Engineer’s aggrieved wife had lodged a written complaint (FIR) with the Patnagarh police station.

As per the FIR, Sabar’s wife had alleged that the MLA and his party workers came to the residence on Wednesday and forced her husband to follow them.

“Under the order of the MLA, some villagers have also thrashed my husband. Also he (the MLA) has hurled abuses and casteist remarks. Hence, my tribal husband has lost mental balance. He hasn’t turn up home since yesterday. I suspect that the MLA might have caused some untoward incident towards my husband after the abduction,” alleged the JE’s wife in her police complaint.

The aggrieved wife of the JE, who hails from a tribal community, has also demanded immediate arrest of Patnagarh MLA Saroj Meher.
