Bhubaneswar: The curfew has been lifted in Cuttack city as normalcy has returned after a 36-hour shutdown.

Police Commissioner S Devdutta Singh stated that the situation is being closely monitored. Police personnel have been deployed in sensitive areas to maintain peace. Thankfully, there were no disturbances reported during the curfew period in the city. He said that internet services will be restored after a thorough assessment of the situation.

He appealed to residents to maintain peace and restore brotherhood.

The curfew was imposed on Sunday night in 13 police station areas, including Darghabazar, Mangalabagh, and Cantonment, after violent clashes broke out during a Durga idol immersion procession.

The internet has been suspended till 7 pm today.
