Bhubaneswar: R Udayagiri police arrested a peon at the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS) Department in R. Udayagiri, Gajapati district, on charges of making his senior officer drink urine instead of water.

The accused peon has been identified as Subash Chandra Behera.

According to a police complaint filed by Pattnayak, the incident occurred on the night of July 23 while he was working late.

Pattnayak had asked Subash to bring him drinking water. Behera allegedly handed him a bottle that, unknown to the officer at the time, contained urine.

After consuming some of the contents, Pattnayak began feeling unwell and grew suspicious. His condition worsened, and he was rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for treatment.

Pattnayak lodged a formal complaint with R. Udayagiri police after his recovery, accusing the peon of making him drink urine.

Based on his statement, R. Udayagiri police registered a case and arrested the accused following an investigation.
