People Will Better Decide On BJP’s Latest Two Promises When Its 2014 Manifesto Has Already Failed Them: BJD

**Bhubaneswar: ** In the wake of Odisha unit BJP’s latest two promises made during its ‘Pratisruti Samabesh’ held here today, ruling BJD pooh-poohed saying that the people are the better decision makers as the saffron party has not yet fulfilled its promises made in the 2014 election manifesto despite it being an affidavit sworn before the voters.

In his reactions, senior BJD leader and Odisha Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera said, “I am unable to decipher the difference between the promise document and promise given. Scores of promises were made in the last election’s manifesto of BJP. Election manifesto is an affidavit before the general public.”

“When that election manifesto has not yet been implemented and the promises made in it have not yet been kept, now the people will decide on these latest two promises made,” he remarked.

Soon after the ‘Pratisruti Samabesh’ here in Odisha’s capital city, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, “Today on behalf of the State unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), we make two big promises, two big responsibilities. These have already been done in the last 55 months by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi.”

He claimed, “Previously, 25 lakh poor people used to be given away houses. During the Government of Narendra Modi, the figure has reached 1.40 crore.”

He also stated, “More than 27 lakh poor people haven’t pucca houses. More than 20 lakh families have got no permanent pattas. If BJP comes to power in Odisha, it promises and shoulders the responsibility.”
“We own the responsibility to fulfill the dream of Narendra Modi that all the poor people of India will be given permanent residential plot patta and pucca houses by 2022,” he vowed.

Mocking at BJP, senior Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati said, “Whatever we promise, we keep it. BJP speaks something but does something else. They have no commitment.”

“BJP had promised to give Rs 15 lakh to each Indian poor after bringing back black money. Was it done? No. Had promised for 2 crore employments. Was it done? No. Was the black money brought back? No. BJP’s promise is like a line drawn in the sea water. Never fulfilled,” he ridiculed.
