Bhubaneswar: After a brief hiatus, the second phase of the Budget Session of the Odisha Assembly begins on Friday. This phase of the Budget Session will have important working days such as the presentation of the Budget of various departments and approval of expenditures.
According to the schedule, the expenditure of various departments will be presented in the House from March 13 to 29. On March 31, the Bill for approval of expenditure will be presented in the House.
However, as in the first phase of the Budget Session, it is likely that the second phase will also witness pandemonium as the Opposition is planning to corner the government on various issues. On the other hand, the ruling party may also take up the negligence of the state by the Centre to counter the Opposition’s moves.
This year, the Odisha Assembly Budget Session commenced on February 21 and is scheduled to continue till April 6. In the first phase of the session, the House was abuzz with issues like a CBI probe into the murder of state Health Minister Naba Kisore Das, farmer suicide, and corruption in the housing scheme among others.
