Phase III Simultaneous Elections In Odisha End Peacefully

Bhubaneswar: In the third phase of simultaneous elections in Odisha, polling was held peacefully for the parliamentary constituencies of Cuttack, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Puri, Bhubaneswar and 42 assembly segments under the said parliamentary constituencies.

Addressing media, CEO Nikunja Bihari Dhal said as per the data obtained from district, the polling rate till 5 pm stood 60 percent and the percentage will go up after the voting is over, he said.

Voters in the above six parliamentary constituencies and 42 Assembly seats participated in the great festival of democracy with enthusiasm.

Chief Electoral Officer Nikunj Bihari Dhal thanked all the voters for strengthening the democratic system.

Dhal thanked all the polling staff and security forces for conducting the polling smoothly.

It is worth noting that voters stood in long queues to exercise their franchise in some booths till evening. By the scheduled polling time, all the voters in the booth are seen voting. In the morning, EVM machines were found to be faulty at a few places. These machines were replaced immediately and polling went on normally. The CEO thanked all the voters for waiting patiently
