Bhubaneswar: A physiotherapist was killed after a bike he was riding was knocked down by a police van in Nayagarh on Monday evening. The mishap took place near Barpali Square under Khandapada police limits.
The victim was rushed by locals to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead. Local police have registered a case and sent the body of the deceased for autopsy.
The incident triggered tension in the area as locals blocked the road and demanded compensation for the deceased’s family. To avert any untoward incident, police have been deployed at the spot.
