Bhubaneswar: A countrymade pistol was found from inside a classroom in Rengumunda UP School under Jamankira police limits of Sambalpur district.
Reportedly, the pistol was discovered during the cleaning of the classroom. It is suspected that a former Assistant Teacher of the school was in possession of the pistol.
As per sources, the Assistant Teacher identified as Gobind Bhoi used to occupy two classrooms. He lived in one of the classrooms and used another as a kitchen.
After the transfer of Bhoi on March 4, the Cluster Resource Center Coordinator (CRCC) ordered to vacate the classroom to resume studies of children.
During the cleaning of the classroom on Saturday, the school staff found the pistol and informed the Headmaster. The matter was subsequently intimated to the CRCC.
It is worthwhile to mention that various cases had been registered earlier against Bhoi. Police are to probe the recent incident to ascertain if he owned the pistol.
