Puri: A plaster reportedly fell off near the Ratna Singhasan (bejewelled throne) at the sanctum sanctorum of the Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri on Tuesday. It has been seized and kept at the Jagannath Temple Police Station. The weight of the plaster is to be estimated to be around 1.5 kg.
The temple administration has claimed that it is a piece of lime. More details can be ascertained after proper inspection. Meanwhile, the temple servitors have demanded the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for immediate consideration of the incident and proper action on it.
