Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar today at 10:50 am, marking his first visit to Odisha since attending Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s swearing-in ceremony on June 12.
After landing, he headed to Gadakana village to interact with beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
During his visit, PM Modi will launch the Subhadra Yojana, a flagship initiative aimed at economically empowering over 1 crore poor women.
Under this scheme, all eligible women between the ages of 21 and 60 would receive ₹50,000 over five years, from 2024-25 to 2028-29.
An amount of ₹10,000/- per annum in two equal instalments will be credited directly to the beneficiary’s Aadhaar-enabled and DBT-enabled bank account. On this historic occasion, the Prime Minister would initiate the fund transfer into the bank accounts of more than 10 lakh women.
PM is also scheduled to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various development projects worth over ₹3800 crore in Bhubaneswar.
