Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 105 development projects worth over Rs 18,600 crore in Odisha, marking a significant boost to the state’s infrastructure and economy. The projects include initiatives in drinking water, irrigation, health, rural roads, national highways, and railway infrastructure.
During his visit, PM Modi flagged off the first passenger train to Boudh district, inaugurating the Sonepur-Purunakatak railway line. He also launched railway projects, including the third and fourth rail lines between Sarla-Sason and the fourth rail line between Jharsuguda-Jamga.
Additionally, PM Modi flagged off 100 electric buses under the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) system, promoting eco-friendly urban mobility. The Prime Minister also unveiled the “Odisha Vision Document,” a roadmap for the state’s development goals, aiming to transform Odisha into a $500 billion economy by 2036 and a $1.5 trillion economy by 2047.
The vision document is anchored around the centenary of Odisha’s formation as a linguistic state in 2036 and India’s 100 years of independence in 2047. PM Modi also felicitated several individuals, including ‘Lakhpati Didis,’ during his visit to the state.
