**Bhubaneswar:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) as scheduled at 8:55 am and was received by Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal. He will commence to inaugurate a slew of projects that will benefit the state and its people.
Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place in the state capital here, Talcher and Jharsuguda in view of Prime Minister’s visit to the state. 15 platoons of police force and 40 police officers have been deployed for the security of Modi in the State capital.
Tweeting about his visit to the heritage state, PM Modi said, “I look forward to being with my sisters and brothers of Odisha tomorrow. I would visit Talcher to join the programme marking the commencement of work in the Talcher Fertilizer Plant. I will also be in Jharsuguda to inaugurate the local airport.”
In another tweet, the Prime Minister mentioned, “Various projects including the Garjanbahal coal mines and the Jharsuguda-Barapali-Sardega rail link will be dedicated to the nation. The projects in Odisha will benefit the energy sector and enhance connectivity.”
As per the tentative tour programme, Modi will fly from BPIA to Black Diamond Stadium helipad in Talcher by copter at 9 am. At the helipad, he will be received by Chief Minister Nvaeen Patnaik. From the helipad he will head to FCI Talcher unit in Angul district by road and lay foundation stone of Talcher Fertilizer Plant between 10-10.20 am on the day.
At 10.25 am, the Prime Minister will leave for the Buxi Jagabandhu Stadium by road and address a public meeting at Talcher between 10.30-11.15 am.
After completion of the public meeting, the Prime Minister will be back to Black Diamond Stadium helipad by road from where he will fly to Jharsuguda airport by helicopter at 11.35 am.
Between 12.35 and 1 pm, PM Modi will dedicate to the nation new Jharsuguda airport, mines of NTPC, mines of MCL and their railway line, and commencement of flights from Jharsuguda airport under UDAN Scheme.
