Bhubaneswar: Indian Railways has announced the services of Amrit Bharat Express between Brahmapur and Surat (Udhna) connecting Odisha to Gujarat, linking multiple key districts across multiple states, including Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Gujarat.
These new train services will boost the economic and industrial mobility by connecting mineral, textile and trade hubs, supporting business and workforce movement.
The inaugural train will be flagged off from Brahmapur railway station by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, through video conferencing from Jharsuguda on September 27. The train will run via Vizianagaram – Rayagada-Titlagarh – Raipur – Nagpur – Bhusaval, connecting major towns and cities.
The Amrit Bharat train services will enhance the travel experience of passengers through modern LHB coaches, improved seating arrangements and modern onboard facilities. Further, the train will enhance the travel convenience for passengers by reducing travel time and eliminating the need to change multiple trains.
Inaugural train details:
Train No. 09022 Brahmapur- Surat (Udhna) Amrit Bharat Express will depart from Brahmapur on Saturday, September 27, at 12:00 hrs and will reach Surat (Udhna) at 21:00 hrs the next day.
The train will halt at major stations including Palasa, Vizianagaram, Rayagada, Titlagarh, Raipur, Nagpur, Bhusaval and Nandurbar.
Other Stoppages (Both directions):
Srikakulam, Bobbili, Parvatipuram, Sungarpur road, Muniguda, Kesinga, Kantabanji, Khariar Road, Mahasamund, Lakholi, Durg, Gondia, Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Malkapur, Jalgaon, Dharangaon, Amalner, Sindkheda, Dondaicha, Navapur, Vyara and Bardoli.
Coach Composition:
The train will consist of 22 coaches, including General Second Class sitting- 11 coaches, Sleeper Class-08 coaches, Second class cum luggage van- 02 coaches and Pantry Car-01.
This inaugural run is a prelude to the introduction of regular Train No. 19021/19022 Udhna–Brahmapur–Udhna Amrit Bharat Express, details of which will be notified separately.
