Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Jharsuguda on September 27, where he will address a grand public meeting in Amalipali area in the district. The district administration has begun intensive preparations for the event, expected to draw around 1 lakh people.
Officials, including Northern Revenue Commissioner Sachin Ramachandra Yadav and District Collector Kunal Mothiram Chavan, have inspected the venue and held meetings to finalise details. Security arrangements, crowd management, and logistics are being discussed.
The District Collector has cancelled leaves for all district-level officers until September 27 and advised them to be vigilant.
Earlier, PM Modi’s visit to Berhampur was cancelled due to a low-pressure system, and Jharsuguda emerged as a possible alternative venue. Preparations were underway, including erecting tents and distributing work among line departments. Heavy rain is forecasted for September 27, which may impact the event.
