Bhubaneswar: The survey for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in rural Odisha will be completed within two months, announced Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Minister Rabi Narayan Naik on Wednesday.
Speaking about the initiative, Minister Naik said the state government is actively conducting surveys to identify eligible beneficiaries and ensure that no deserving individual is left out. Public awareness campaigns are also being organized across villages to inform people about the scheme and include them in the survey process.
“The survey for PMAY in rural areas is currently underway and will be completed in the next couple of months. We are spreading awareness through public meetings and ensuring people actively participate in the survey,” Naik said.
The Minister emphasized that those who were eligible but missed out on the scheme earlier will now be included. “We are prioritizing the inclusion of all deserving individuals, ensuring these beneficial schemes reach those who need them,” he stated.
Naik highlighted the efforts of department-assigned trainers, who are visiting villages to spread awareness and assist in identifying overlooked beneficiaries. He assured transparency in the survey process, noting that visiting ministers review PMAY survey reports during village visits.
Criticizing the previous government, Naik alleged that many poor individuals were excluded from the PMAY housing list in favour of ineligible beneficiaries for political gains.
In addition, the Minister promised to discuss the PMAY situation in Odisha with Union Ministers to secure additional benefits for the state’s people.
Naik reiterated the state government’s commitment to completing the survey on time and ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive their due under the PMAY scheme.
