Bhubaneswar: The CBI today traced Rs 37.90 lakh from a bank locker belonging to Kaushik Mohanty, one of the directors of Global Trading Solutions which is involved in a bank loan fraud. A senior CBI official confirmed that the amount was found during the search of assets and belongings of accused in this case.
Managing director of Global Trading, Abinash Mohanty, former directors Kaushik Mohanty and Anshuman Samantaray, current director Bidhubhusan Nayak and others have been named by the CBI in this case. They allegedly cheated the Punjab National Bank to the tune of over Rs 31 crore by availing loans, fraudulently.
The CBI has registered a case against four serving and retired officials of PNB in Bhubaneswar for allegedly cheating the financial institution and being complicit in the scam with others. “The bank branch at the Station Square had advanced loans to Global Trading Solutions, a mineral exporting firm, violating the norms,” the official added.
