Poacher Held With 29 Dead Foreign Birds In Balugaon

Khurda: Wildlife officials arrested a person on charges of poaching foreign birds at the Balugaon Balinasi area under Tangi range under the Chilika Wildlife Division on Monday.

As per reports, the concerned officials seized 29 dead foreign birds from the accused identified as Alok Pradhan, a resident of Ujjwala Gopinathpur village.

He was caught with a mobile phone, motorcycle, and binoculars.

According to Balugaon DFO Amlan Nayak, the dead birds have been sent for post-mortem, and the accused was produced in court.

Meanwhile, residents have expressed concern over the rampant poaching of birds despite several efforts taken by the wildlife division in this regard.
