Dhenkanal: Parjanga Police arrested 13 members of a dacoit gang in Roda village of Dhenkanal district on Saturday.
The police acted on a tip-off and formed a special team, led by Parjanga Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) Priyabrata Das.
The team raided the area and arrested the gang members, who were planning a robbery on the banks of the Brahmani River near the Roda village. Two of the dacoits managed to escape the scene.
According to the Dhenkanal Superintendent of Police (SP), seven out of the thirteen arrested persons are professional criminals involved in multiple dacoity cases across different police stations.
The SP added that all 13 arrested gang members will be sent to court for further proceedings.
