Balasore: A police team led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Subhranshu Sekhar Nayak arrested four persons, including a minor, for allegedly attacking a doctor near Soro College in Balasore district.
The incident occurred on September 17 when doctor Brajasundar Swain, a pediatrician, was attacked by six masked miscreants with sharp weapons near his clinic at College Square.
Swain sustained severe injuries, including a deep cut on his neck, and was initially treated at a local clinic before being shifted to a private medical facility in Bhubaneswar.
Based on the complaint filed by Swain’s father, the police registered a case and launched an investigation. The police team, formed on the instructions of Balasore SP, conducted raids and arrested the accused Sooryakanta Nayak (21), Aditya Narayan Singh (21), Tapas Kumar Swain, and a minor. The accused will be produced in court tomorrow.
Police investigation is on to apprehend other accused and ascertain the motive behind the attack.
