Police ASI, Head Clerk In Odisha Vigilance Net For Taking Bribe

**Jajpur/Nayagarh:** Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Tamka police station in Jajpur was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5000 today.

The incident occurred at about 12.20 pm when Bijaya Kumar Das was caught red handed by the officers of Jajpur and Cuttack Vigilance Unit while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5000 from Amarendra Ray for not forwarding him to court and to release on bail.

The bribe amount has been recovered from his possession and seized. Das is currently being grilled further in district headquarter vigilance office.

In Nayagarh, head clerk Digambar Mohanty of Ranpur Tehsil fell into the vigilance net while demanding and accepting Rs 2000 bribe from one Bijay Sahu for area demarcation. Following this, vigilance sleuths raided his properties in Nayagarh for further probe into the matter.
