Police Bust Gambling Racket In Rourkela; 5 Arrested

Bhubaneswar: In a significant crackdown on illegal gambling activities, the Plantsite police on Monday arrested five persons in Rourkela.

The accused have been identified as Zafar Perwez (28), Md Niyaz (42), Md Firoz Ahmad, alias Papu (25), Md Hasan Ali (28), and Yasin Khan (51), all hailing from Sundargarh district.

According to an official press release, the Plantsite police successfully uncovered the gambling operation during a raid. Police seized cash amounting to Rs 1,38,040, along with three mobile phones, three motorcycles, and other incriminating evidence from the suspects.

The police have registered a case and further investigations are ongoing.
