Soro: Local police today exhumed the body of a woman from her grave in the forest near Baghampuda village in Gopinathpur panchayat of Balasore district following an allegation of murder.
According to reports, family members had buried the body of Manju Singh, wife of Abhay Singh of Baghampuda village four days back in a pit in the nearby forest after she allegedly died of a snake bite.
However, deceased Manju’s mother Jati Rout lodged a complaint with the police on Tuesday alleging that her daughter was murdered.
The police today exhumed Manju’s body from the pit near the jungle in the presence of Soro Additional Tahasildar. The police have launched a fresh probe into the matter.
Manju’s husband Abhay had predeceased her four years back.
