Bhubaneswar: Continuing its drive against obscenity in jatra, Malkangiri police have registered a case against Bhagyashree Sahoo, popularly known as ‘Sahoo Bhauja’, for her alleged obscene performance at a jatra show in Kotameta area of the district.
According to reports, police registered the case gainst Sahoo under Section 296 of the BNS (obscene acts and songs). The police have also registered a case against the organisers of the jatra show in Malkangiri.
Meanwhile, police have initiated a departmental probe against Mathili police station IIC Debabrata Mallik who was present at the show and reportedly did nothing to stop or oppose the objectionable dance by Bhagyashree Sahoo.
The Malkangiri SP has directed the Malkangiri SDPO to conduct the departmental investigation.
