Rourkela: Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) of Northern Division, Sambalpur, Suresh Chandra Dalai hoisted the National Flag as the Chief Guest at the Independence Day celebration organised at the Uditnagar Parade Ground in Rourkela on Monday.
Dalai in his address at the event emphasized the development and prosperity of Rourkela. Some personnel from Odisha Police, Fire Service & Home Guards, children, and a few players received awards and were felicitated on the occasion.
The event was also attended by Rourkela Municipal Commissioner-cum-Additional District Magistrate Dr Subhankar Mohapatra, SP Mukesh Kumar Bhamoo, and Sub Collector Daulat Chandrakar.
Earlier in the day, the Municipal Commissioner-cum-ADM hoisted the National Flag at his residence, ADM office, and the office of the Rourkela Development Authority.
Subsequently, he visited Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Park at Uditnagar and paid tributes to the great leader by garlanding his statue.
