Jharsuguda: In a significant success under Operation Netra, Brajrajnagar police have prevented a potential major gang-related incident in the area by arresting five accused persons and seizing illegal firearms.
Jharsuguda Superintendent of Police G. Raghavendra Reddy announced the breakthrough during a press conference today.
Acting on intelligence inputs about a possible gang war brewing in Brajrajnagar, police demonstrated high readiness and swiftly intervened, foiling the accused’s plans.
The arrested individuals are Santosh Biswal, Sandeep Das, Kanhaiya Sahis, Devendra Pal Singh, and M.D. Munna—all residents of the Brajrajnagar area. From them, police recovered 5 country-made guns, 4 bullets, and one motorcycle.
SP Reddy highlighted that multiple criminal cases are pending against the accused at various police stations, indicating their involvement in prior offences.
This timely action underscores the effectiveness of Operation Netra in curbing organized crime and maintaining law and order in Jharsuguda district. Police assured continued vigilance to prevent any escalation of criminal activities in the region.
