Bhubaneswar: A police inspector in Odisha has been arrested on charges of raping a woman sub-inspector under the guise of a fake promise of marriage. The accused inspector, who was recently promoted from sub-inspector to inspector, was taken into custody following a complaint filed by the victim.
According to reports, the inspector allegedly cheated and sexually exploited the woman sub-inspector, exploiting her trust and vulnerability. The arrest was made after a thorough investigation, and the officer is facing serious charges under sections related to rape and cheating.
The case is currently under investigation, and the accused inspector is expected to face further legal proceedings.
He has been forwarded to court and sent to judicial custody after his bail petition was rejected.
