Bolangir: A police officer and a constable were attacked by a warrantee on National Highway 26, near the Sonagada River on the Balangir-Deogaon road in Bolangir district.
Shashi Bhushan Mishra, Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Tusura Police Station along with a constable were allegedly beaten up while chasing a warrantee.
According to reports, Mishra was chasing a warrantee who was on the run. Deogaon Police Station IIC Hadibandhu Gadtya intervened and rescued the injured IIC and constable. He brought them to the police station before shifting them to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital for treatment,
Police are investigating the incident. The culprit will be nabbed soon, said an official.
