Police Launch State-Wide Crackdown On Illegal Mining

Bhubaneswar: A special drive against the illicit extraction and transportation of minor minerals, including sand, gravel, and lateral soil, is underway across Odisha.

As per the direction of DGP YB Khurania, police registered 81 cases, seizing 117 vehicles laden with illegally sourced materials in various parts of the State.  As many as 88 accused persons were arrested for their involvement in mining minerals illegally.

The enforcement operation is underway. District police have been instructed to solicit feedback from local residents to ensure the drive’s success.
