Bhubaneswar: The Vigilance on Tuesday carried out searches at multiple locations across the State in connection with a disproportionate assets case. The anti-corruption agency carried out raids on the premises of Additional SP (Communication), Trinath Mishra on the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income. Total three teams of the Vigilance carried out searches at 11 places in Cuttack, Khordha, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur and Nabarangpur districts at:
1) Residential flat, Manorama Estate, Rasulgarh, Bhubaneswar.
2) House at native village Dabugaon, Nabarangpur.
3) House of relative at Khaira in Badachana, Jajpur.
4) Farm house – Shantilata Farm House at Teligarh, in Khaira.
5) Shantilata Care and Nursing Home along with Medicine shop at Dhanamandal, Chandikhol Bazar.
6) Shantilata Transport (first) near Shantilata Care, Chandikhol, Jajpur.
7) Shantilata Transport (second) at Dhanamandal, Chandikhol, Jajpur.
8) House of driver of Trinath Mishra at village Daleighai, Biridi, Jagatsinghpur.
9) Drug Unit of his sons at Mahanadi Vihar, Cuttack.
10) Government quarter at Madhupatna police station campus, Cuttack.
11) Office room at office of SP Signal, Tulasipur, Cuttack.
“During house searches so far, the Vigilance unearthed a 3 BHK flat at Marorama Estate, Rasulgarh, Bhubaneswar estimated at Rs 80 lakh. However, Technical Wing of Odisha, Vigilance will carry out detailed assessment of its value, which may increase further. A Double storeyed building at Dabugaon, Nabarangpur, One farm house at Badachana, Jajpur worth over Rs.86.32 lakh as per preliminary estimate, 4 number of plots at Bhubaneswar and Jajpur. Undervaluation of the plots during registration is suspected. A thorough probe has been initiated in this regard,” the Vigilance stated.
Besides, bank deposits over Rs 43.32 lakh, Insurance deposits over Rs 44.04 lakh, Gold ornaments worth over Rs.16.85 lakh, Cash of Rs 5.27 lakh, a BMW car worth Rs 1.20 crore, Hyundai Creta car worth Rs.17 lakh, Maruti Baleno car worth Rs.13 lakh, Triumph Rocket 3 R motorcycle worth Rs.20 lakh, GTR 250 Hyosung Bike bearing worth Rs 5.30 lakh, Royal Enfield Classic 500 worth Rs.2.50 lakh, and three more two-wheelers, have been unearthed.
“Mishra is suspected to have invested ill-gotten money in business in name of his family members. The following have been unearthed. Cost of triple storeyed building named as Shantilata Care Nursing Home worth over Rs.1.76 Crore and Shanti Drug House, both are licensed in the name of Mishra’s wife. Valuation of high end medical instruments at Shantilata Care are being done with the help of technical and medical experts. Preliminary assessment of Medical instruments, assets and drugs seized during search of Shantilata Care is worth Rs.77 lakh.”
“Further, Pharmaceutical Unit (M/s Taurus Pharmex) at Mahanadi Vihar, Cuttack in the name of Sri Tarun Mishra, unmarried son of Mishra has been unearthed. Medicine stock value of (M/s Taurus Pharmex) is worth over Rs.14.10 lakh as per preliminary estimate. Searches are continuing at all the above places. Finance and Technical Wing of Odisha Vigilance are doing assessments. It is suspected that Mishra has created benami assets in name of his relatives which is under verification. Unearthing of more assets is likely and overall valuation is likely to increase,” the Vigilance stated.
