Bargarh: A partially burnt body of a youth was recovered near Baepur Electric Grid under Rashida Outpost of Veden police in Odisha’s Bargarh district early on Tuesday.
According to reports, while going to a nearby river to defecate, some locals saw some people take out a body from a car and pour petrol on the body and set it on fire.
On being informed, Veden tehsildar Nepal Chandra Munda reached the spot and recovered the half-burnt body with the help of police and a scientific team. Police have seized the body and it has been sent for post-mortem.
The people, who were burning the body, reportedly fled the spot after seeing the locals coming in that direction. As a result, they could not finish the task of burning the body completely.
Police also seized a knife from the spot and initiated an investigation into the case. In addition, a scientific team from Sambalpur also arrived at the spot on Wednesday.
