Bhawanipatna: Police on Thursday recovered the hanging body of the student from the hostel of Indravati Students Hostel of Maa Manikeshwari University in Bhawanipatna of Odisha’s Kalahandi district.
The deceased student has been identified as Tofali Nayak, a native of Birokot village under Rampur block of the district. He was a first year Plus II student at the university.
According to reports, this morning the student went to the bathroom and didn’t open the door till late. The classmates became suspicious and knocked on the door and called the student. The classmates reported this to the authorities and the police in this regard.
Police recovered the body, sent it for post-mortem and launched an investigation into the incident. However, the circumstances that led the student to take the extreme step is yet to be ascertained.
