Puri: The Kumbharpada police here have registered a case in the incident in which a person’s throat got slit after getting entangled with kite string on the Grand Road here on Sunday.
According to reports, the police have registered a case under sections 337 and 338 of the IPC.
Close on the heels of the incident in Cuttack city on Sunday where a person bled to death after his throat was slit by a kite string, one Bhanjabihari Patra in Puri was seriously injured after his neck got entangled in kite string near Malijaga at the Hospital Chowk on the Grand Road here.
Patra, a resident of Kundheibenta Sahi on Sunday evening was on his way riding a bicycle to fetch medicine for his ailing son from a pharmacy on the Grand Road when his neck got entangled in a kite string.
Patra was rushed to the district headquarters hospital in a critical condition where he had to undergo surgery. He is currently, convalescing at the hospital.
