Cuttack: Police had to resort to lathi-charge to control the crowd at the ticket counters outside the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Thursday.
Hundreds of cricket fans have queued up in front of the stadium to secure the tickets for the T20 ODI cricket match between India and South Africa scheduled to be held on June 12 at the Barabati Stadium.
Many of them alleged that while they have been standing in long queues since last night, few people are breaking the line and getting tickets prior to them.
As the matter escalated at the ticket counter meant for women, police had to resort to lathi-charge.
It is pertinent to mention that the offline sale of tickets began on June 7 for the organisations affiliated with the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), tickets will be made available for the general public today and tomorrow i.e. June 9 and 10.
Only 12,000 tickets will be sold at nine counters. A person can buy only two tickets by showing any identity card.
