Jeypore: Police seized over 247 kg ganja from a Kendu leaf godown at Ekamba under Sadar police station in Koraput district on Friday.
The raid was conducted by Jaypore Sadar Police, who received a tip-off about the ganja being stored in the godown, which falls under the Odisha Forest Corporation.
Acting on the information, the police launched a raid on Thursday afternoon, and the investigation continued late into the night. Although no arrests have been made, the police have registered a case and initiated a thorough investigation, according to Jeypore Sadar Police Station Officer Ishwar Tandi.
The police broke open the shutters and lock of the godown to conduct a search, which yielded a significant haul of ganja. Police informed about the crackdown to the media on Friday afternoon.
