Boudh: In a major crackdown on drug smuggling, the Manamunda police on Thursday seized approximately 257 kg of ganja and a motorcycle from two locations within the Boudh district.
Acting on a tip-off, Manamunda Police Station IIC Anjali Biswal formed two teams and dispatched them to patrol the Shagada forest area.
During the operation, the police recovered 107 kg of ganja and a motorcycle from the Kanabir forest. However, the smuggler managing the illegal cargo managed to flee the scene.
In a separate operation, the police also seized 150 kg of ganja from the Malti Gochhapada – Shigadi forest hill area.
The police have registered two separate cases at the Manamunda Police Station and are continuing their investigation into the matter.
