Dhenkanal: The body of a minor girl who allegedly committed suicide was seized by Dhenkanal Sadar police while it was being taken for final rites.
According to reports, the girl was rushed to the hospital where she was declared dead. Her family, belonging to Siminai area of the district, planned to consign her to flames without intimating the police.
However, the police was tipped of and a team of cops rushed to Siminai to rescue the body before it was consigned to flames.
The body was sent for autopsy and a probe has been launched. According to sources, the girl allegedly committed suicide after getting agitated over an argument involving a cellphone.
