Bhubaneswar: A police sub-inspector Prafulla Kumar Deo was arrested by the Vigilance on charges of bribery. Deo, In-charge Kantilo Outpost under Khandapara block in Nayagarh was apprehended by the sleuths while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
The amount was demanded by the SI for releasing a motorcycle seized in a case registered at Khandapara police station. The entire graft money was recovered from the possession of Deo and seized in presence of witnesses, the Vigilance said.
Following the trap, a search was conducted at his house in Bolagarh. Deo was arrested and will be forwarded to the Court, the Vigilance said. In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance has registered a case and investigating further.
