Bhubaneswar: A sub-Inspector (SI) of Police posted at Binjharpur police station in Jajpur was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance at his Government residence for taking a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a person to provide him post mortem report and help him get an accidental claim for the death of his father.
SI Keshab Chandra Dash was caught taking illegal gratification at his government residence in Binjharpur old Police Station campus.
The entire bribe money has been recovered and seized from the exclusive possession of the accused police officer, vigilance said.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of the SI from DA angle.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance registered a case U/s-7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018. The investigation is in progress against the accused police sub-inspector.
