Police Suspect Mahimananda Mishra Might Have Escaped Abroad, Conducts Raids At House And Hotel

**Cuttack: ** The police has conducted raids at noted businessman and OSL MD- Mahimananda Mishra’s house at Cuttack, his hotel ‘Empires’ at Bhubaneswar, and his farmhouse at Nischintcoili as part of the investigation in Mahendra Swain murder case in Paradip last month.

Police sources say that Mahimananda might have escaped aboard much before the look out notice was issued. In order to take the investigation further and force Mahimananda to surrender, the police might soon initiate the process of attaching his property and assets.

Police sources say that business of OSL has already been badly hit due to this murder charge against Mahimnanada and if he does not surrender then his business empire might collapse.

Earlier, police had cancelled the firearm license of Mishra and his son Charchit. Besides, a team of Jagatsinghpur police had also inspected theaircrafts of the OSL chairman at the Biju Patnaik International Airport to investigate the movements of the main conspirator Rakesh Chaubey, who has already been arrested by the police.

So far, police have arrested six men – including Congress leader Bapi Sarkhel – for allegedly harbouring and providing logistical support to the killers.

It may be recalled that on October 26, two miscreants had shot dead the GM of Seaways Shipping and Logistics Limited, Mahendra Swain after which his brother had filed an FIR against Mahimananda Mishra and three of his employees in OSL for their alleged involvement behind the murder.
