Cuttack: A four-member team of the Commissionerate Police, Cuttack will leave for Kolkata tomorrow to investigate into the allegation of sexual exploitation by a woman against popular Ollywood singer Shourin Bhatt.
The team will include the IIC of Cuttack Mahila Police Station and member of the Special Squad, police sources said.
The police team will visit Kolkata to nab Bhatt since he failed to appear at the Mahila Police Station.
Police said that Bhatt’s mobile phone was found to be switched off despite repeated attempts by it to contact him.
Bhatt has taken a house on rent in CDA area of the city. He stays there whenever he is on a visit to the city.
Police have visited Bhatt’s rented accommodation in CDA area and have conducted a probe. The police have served a notice to the house owner in this connection.
During the probe, it has been found that the complainant woman had visited the house in the past.
Worth mentioning, a woman has lodged a complaint against Bhatt at the Mahila Police Station here.
The woman has alleged that Bhatt had exploited her sexually, mentally and financially on a false promise to marry her. The victim is reportedly a bank employee from Jagatpur area and Bhatt had duped her of Rs 10 lakh.
