Bhubaneswar: In a display of unity and patriotism, leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Biju Janata Dal (BJD), and Congress in Bhubaneswar came together to express solidarity with the Indian armed forces amid heightened tensions with Pakistan.

As per reports, the BJP and BJD organised candlelight prayers at the Ram Mandir and Lingaraj temple, respectively, while the Congress took out a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ (flag march) through the city. These events aimed to boost the morale of the armed forces and demonstrate support for their sacrifices.

The BJP’s women’s wing led the candlelight prayer at the Ram Mandir, while BJD leaders and activists held a similar event at the Lingaraj temple.

Prominent leaders, including BJD district president Ashok Chandra Panda, MLAs Sushant Rout and Ananta Narayan Jena, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Sulochana Das, and party leader Manmath Routray, participated in the event.

The gathering was held to pray for the well-being of the Indian soldiers who are fighting on the frontlines.

On the other hand, Congress leaders, led by state party president Bhakta Charan Das, marched through the city carrying the national flag.

State in-charge Ajay Kumar Lallu, CLP leader Rama Chandra Kadam, and MLAs Ramesh Jena and Sofia Firdous joined the event, raising patriotic slogans in support of the armed forces.

This display of unity across party lines highlights the shared commitment to national security and support for the armed forces.
